Hello Freecycle(TM) Members,
We have 6253 members! Way to go Tacoma Area Freecycle(TM)!
We have an assortment of topics to share with you, please read each short bit.
Because we are a recycling group, we want to reduce our carbon footprint upon the environment by including locations, on the subject line of each post, so our fellow Freecycle members can know how far they might have to travel.
LOCATIONS
Please put your home location on the subject line on EACH post that you submit. You may include areas you are willing to travel to in the body.
WANTED POSTS
Just a reminder that Freecycle groups are recycling groups and are not meant to be your personal lists for everything you need. The rule is 3 Wanteds per 7 days are the maximum, and do not repost for at least 14 days.
NO EXPLANATIONS
We ask that you keep your descriptions to the point and keep to a minimum the reasons you need/want the item. Please leave out explanations of hardship or need such as financial situation, unemployment status, disability, etc.
NO PHONE NUMBERS
No phone numbers in posts. Exchange personal info in private emails only.
CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER
Members have asked that we remind everyone to check their spam folders for replies. Many times a members email ends up in the spam folder and is never seen. Other times, it ends up in the inbox or designated folder the first time but a reply from the member ends up in the spam folder. When this happens, the person that was promised the item ends up disappointed because it ends up going to someone else. So please, check your spam folder and wait a reasonable time for a response before offering it to someone else.
MEMBER POLL
Members still have some time to take part in our poll on whether to change the guidelines of Wanted posts. Hurry and vote now so you can have a say!
Lastly, please remember that the moderators are volunteers and are taking time out of their busy lives for the good of the group; treat them, as you would like to be treated.
