OFFER: Go Red branded MotorolaRazr V3m cell phone (48th & Grandview-
Posted by: "pjizant" pjizant@yahoo.com pjizant
Wed Jun 10, 2009 11:49 am (PDT)
This phone is offered mint, in red, because I swiched carriers and needed a phone with a QWERTY keyboard to do more texting with nieces and nephews and other younger folk.
This is a dual band, clam style flip phone with standard keys and an external display. The phone allows SMS text messaging, Voice commands, voice recording, and has voice recognition software. It also allows up to 1000 contact entries (jeesh..who knows that many people?), built-in calendar feature, location feature, speed dial operability, data roam guard, bluetooth enabled pairing, built in camera and media player capability.
(No, the average Jane doesn't use all these options but they were nice to have.)
This offering also includes a Lithium Ion battery, a charger, microSD card and adapter AND, (your lucky day) a Motorola H500 BlueTooth Handsfree Headset (in matching red, natch) so you look totally cool and coordinated and can talk and drive. (but please, don't talk and drive, ok?)
Geek note: this phone works on a CDMA network, NOT the GSM cell network. CDMA means "Code Division Multiple Access." Those cell providers on CDMA are Alltel, Sprint, and Verizon. Won't work for the other carriers that use GSM, "Global System for Mobile" communication like AT&T and T-Mobile.
Your interesting but brief narrative why gets the reply!

OFFERED: Olympus Film Camera + film (48th & Grandview - UP)
Posted by: "pjizant" pjizant@yahoo.com pjizant
Wed Jun 10, 2009 12:09 pm (PDT)
You're on the fashionable trailing edge which is why this camera appeals to you. It's an Olympus weatherproof, 35mm film camera with optical zoom, auto focus and black padded carrying case. Along with it you get two unopened boxes of 35mm color film (12 rolls in all) - enough exposures to document several years worth of precious memories.
Your digital camera friends may scoff at your old fashioned image capturing device but you'll be quietly chuckling when they lose their images in a hard drive crash and you've got your pictures and negatives to share...putting a nice bit of salt in that emotional wound when they realize what they lost. ("Bummer, you don't have back-ups? Tant pis.")
Photography for dummies indeed!
Reply with a list three old fashioned things you still use and why I should too and this camera is yours!

Thank you L...for sharing your story with me. I had 13 replies for it. Because you read the end of the posting closely and you had a willingness to share your need in reply it resulted in me wanting you to have this phone. Best wishes to you and your family going forward.

OFFER: Aztec Copper Wall Art (48th & Grandview - UP)
Posted by: "pjizant" pjizant@yahoo.com pjizant
Wed Jun 10, 2009 3:06 pm (PDT)
This is a replica of an Aztec Maya Calendar in Hammered Copper (see photo in file section of this list.)
Measures: 25" in diameter
Weight: about 10 lbs.
This piece was purchased by my parents back in the 1970's on a trip to Mexico. You'll see them sold online for about $175-$200. It's lovely but my home is populated with fiber art stuff. It deserves a home in a residence that has more cross-cultural design or with someone who is totally nuts about metal arts and/or Mexican history, artifacts and art.
This copper calendar is based on a large monolithic sculpture that was excavated in the Zócalo, Mexico City's main square, on December 17, 1790. The original basalt version is presently on display in a museum in Mexico City. The image on this stone calendar is often informally considered to be one of the national symbols of Mexico.
This replica calendar is made entirely from a raw copper plate which has been previously softened with the heat from a wood fire and then, once the proper softness has been reached, it was molded then carefully hammered until the desired copper tub shape is attained.
The manufacturing of each of these calendars is a sculpting task for the artisans. They usually work in teams and by using their hammers and chisels they patiently shape the copper plates, inch by inch, into the desired form. BTW, the Aztec year consisted of eighteen months, each having 20 days. Each month was given a specific name.
TIP: What things about Mexico do you love the most? Tell me about it and you might find me meeting you to gift it for your home!

items free for the taking. Things have been tight for us but we're ok

so I'd like to help. There are 2 jars of Ragu spaghetti sauce, lots of

WANTED: WANTED: Clothes Washer (NE Tacoma/Brown's Point)
Posted by: "Lynae76" heather.l.boyd@comcast.net hlynae
Thu Jun 11, 2009 12:50 am (PDT)
Our washer died a couple months ago and we're having a hard time
affording the rent for one of those rent-to-own places. The catch is, we
have no way to pick up a washer if someone has one, so all the ads I've
seen and replied to haven't worked out. If anyone has a washer and is
able to deliver it to us I'd be very grateful.
