With the changes in the economy there has been a surge in the list of WANTED ads, and complaints from members about the rise in them. Therefore, it has been decided to amend the rule about the amount of 'Wanted' posts per week and the frequency of such.

NEW POLICY ON WANTED POSTS:
Each member will be limited to no more than 3 'Wanted' posts per 7 days and you may not ask for the same item again for 14 days.

I just wanted to remind everyone that we are not designed to be a wish list or a charitable organization. We are not here to take care of needy families, friends, and coworkers, provide gifts to others, or your stock your office. (Though this may occasionally be the result, it is NOT our primary intent). There are other organizations that can do this. Messages asking for help for families, etc. will not be approved.
Freecycle(TM) exists as a forum to help people give away items that they would otherwise be throwing away. We are here to OFFER things that we have but no longer want or need. I do not object to wanted ads, but I think that we all need to consider what we are here for and use them wisely.
That being said, I just need to point out a few things about WANTED ads. Please do not include a story of why you want something, or whom it is for. We kindly ask that you help us to keep the site objective, and simply post "WANTED: Item (Location)". The body of the email will be reserved for only details necessary to explain what the item is, where you are willing to travel, or a simple thank you.
Thanks in advance for lowering the moderator's work by sticking to the rules. We work very hard to keep the site up to date for everyone.
