Offer: Gig Harbor (X-streets Rosedale & Schoolhouse)

Posted by: "fuzzbobbin" putnam.tom@gmail.com   fuzzbobbin

Wed Mar 3, 2010 6:05 pm (PST)

Three styrofoam ice chests, 2 are approx 10.5" x 13" x 8" and one is approx 13" x 14" x 11". All three have been used to ship frozen foods via the airways so they're strong (sides are about 2" thick.) Should be useful for picnics, storing food while defrosting, etc.

Two strong cardboard tubes that should be useful to someone for crafts projects, making scratching posts for cats, etc. One is 4" in diameter and about 8'8" long and the other is 3.5" in diameter and about 8' long.

Nothing wrong with any of these items, just part of a continuing project of getting rid of things I do not want or need and don't want to send useful stuff to the landfill.

Will respond to all inquiries. Would like to get rid of these items as quickly as possible.

Thanks.

Tom

ADMIN: Spring tips and a challenge

Greetings Tacoma Area Freecycle(TM) Members!!

Please welcome our newest volunteer moderator, Charene.

Membership
We are approaching the 6200 member mark! We just might cross that threshold this month with your help. Tell everyone you know about Freecycle and watch us grow.

**********

A helpful tip from one of our members: a lot of Freecycle messages end up in bulk/spam folders. Please check those frequently.

**********

Who posts Received? When you've posted a Wanted post and then been gifted the item, please remember to post your Received post.

**********

Members have asked us to remind members that if you commit to picking an item up, please keep the appointment. If something comes up, kindly email or call the member to let them know.

**********

Location--Including location on the subject line helps people to see how much impact their gift may make on an environmental level, but also it may inspire your neighbors to respond when they recognize the local area you're from.

*****************************************************************

I thought we'd try this again this year since we received so many wonderful comments about it last year:

Today kicks off Week 1 of the Spring Cleaning Challenge. The Challenge is to see if there is an item or two in your Kitchen and/or Dining room that you can Offer on Freecycle.

Remember the idea is to make a little space in our homes before the warmer weather brings guests and new adventures into our lives.

Go dig deep into the backs of your hutch, cabinets, and pantry for items you haven't used in years.

Or, are you planning on getting any new table covers, place settings or cookware for your entertaining? If so, I'm sure there is a member who would put the old ones to good use.

What about those old grocery bags? Someone might have a use for them. How about your old egg cartons? Join the challenge and see what nifty things you have to offer!

Stay tuned for next week's challenge!

*****************************************************************

Thanks for being great Freecycle members!

OFFER: Tropical Fish (48th & Pac)

Posted by: "Roxanna Willoughby" lambsearyarn@hotmail.com   momtoreg

Wed Mar 3, 2010 8:23 pm (PST)

Sadly, I need to re-home my tropical fish.

1 Large plecostomus
2 otocinculus
2 black skirt tetras
1 neon tetra
2 zebra danios

All are healthy and have been living happily together in a 50 gal tank. Must all go together and you MUST have at least a 50 gallon ESTABLISHED freshwater aquarium. I want these guys to live and have enough room. Please do not ask for them if your tank is smaller than 50 gallon. I want these fish to go to someone who knows what they're doing.

Email communication, only. I don't play phone tag. And I don't deliver.
